Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By using URoasted (“the Service”), whether on the web or through our mobile app, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Who Can Use the Service

You must be at least 13 years old to use URoasted. If you are between 13 and 18, you should use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian.

3. Accounts & Sign-In

You don’t need an account to create or view roasts — URoasted works anonymously by default, identified only by a device cookie. Signing in (with Google or a one-time email code) is optional and unlocks a public profile, following, comments under your name, and email notifications. You’re responsible for anything posted from your device or account, and for keeping access to your sign-in method secure.

4. Acceptable Content

URoasted is for playful, lighthearted roasts among friends. You may not use it to post or share:

• Hate speech, slurs, or content targeting groups based on race, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, or nationality.
• Sexual content of any kind, especially involving minors.
• Threats of violence or content promoting self-harm or suicide.
• Personal information of others (real names full enough to identify them outside your friend group, addresses, phone numbers, etc.) without their consent.
• Defamation, harassment campaigns, or doxxing.
• Spam, scams, or unauthorized commercial promotion.
• Content that violates any applicable law.

This applies to every part of a roast — text, photos, voice notes, comments, and your profile (avatar, bio, username) alike. URoasted is a roast platform - playful insults aimed at one specific person you know are fine. Targeted harassment of strangers, public figures, or groups is not.

5. Content Moderation

We run automated checks on text (via OpenAI’s Moderation API), voice notes (transcribed and checked the same way), and photos (via an automated image classifier) before they’re published. Content that fails these checks — or that a check can’t run on — is blocked. Anyone can also report a roast, comment, or profile directly from within the app; we review reports and reserve the right to remove any content, suspend accounts, or apply temporary bans for repeated violations, at any time, with or without notice.

6. Content Ownership

You retain ownership of the roasts, comments, and profile content you create. By submitting them you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and share them through the Service.

7. AI-Generated Content

URoasted offers an optional “Magic Roast” feature that uses third-party AI services (Anthropic and OpenAI) to help write roast lines from a short description you provide, limited to 5 generations per hour per device. You’re responsible for reviewing and, ultimately, for anything you choose to publish, whether AI-assisted or written entirely by you — the same content rules in Section 4 apply either way.

8. Reporting Abuse

If you see content that violates these Terms or that you believe is harmful, use the “Report” option on the roast, comment, or profile, or email contact@uroasted.com. We review reports promptly.

9. No Warranties

The Service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uptime, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, URoasted and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

11. Termination

We may suspend or remove access to the Service at any time, particularly if you violate these Terms — including temporary bans for accounts with repeated content violations. You can stop using the Service at any time, and can delete your own roasts and comments whenever you like.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Pakistan.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms occasionally. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
